Conveyor belt joint types

Conveyor joint types

Conveyor belt joint should be reliable and strong to be used wherever possible. The joint should be as strong as the belt and the best suitable joint should be used for durability of the belt. The surface of the joint is left smooth which can used effectively without risk of damage to the belt. Some joints use fasteners such as

  • Plastic fasteners used in areas where metal detectors are used.
  • Metal fasteners are usually flat and round.
  • Fasteners of stainless steel and steel with rivets
  • Self lock fasteners

repair rubber belt belt joint

Bull nose loop – this joint is woven and coated with PTFE. It is woven with rows of weft threads. It is folded to create a loop with connection pin. This joint is preferable for open mesh belts which measure airflow and strength are a necessity and the metallic fastener suitable.

Scarfed overlap – this Conveyor belt joint is used in most material types that are used for conveyor belts. They are used for a closed weave that created a smooth transition between two surfaces.

Metal Inox spiral – this joint is made by hand integrating the end of the mesh belts. This is very similar to the bullnose loop and it is used for applications where the connections are a challenge. In cases of a large metal connection this is the best connection joint.

Alligator G003 – this joint has a strong body to it suitable for the metal fastener. Used on closed and open mesh belts. The alligator G003 has metal spikes grip which is reinforced and used at the end of the belt and holds the fastener in place. This joint is coated with Aramid.

Clipper A36SP – this is a strong metal fastener which is used in lightweight construction. It is flatter than the alligator joint. It is strong and most preferred metal faster because of its cost effective features and the fact that it can be used on open weave and close weave belts.

Peek Spiral – this is similar to the metal Inox spiral joint. It is a choice for a few customers and it is done in large and small versions.
