Oil and fat can have a very detrimental effect on the performance and life expectancy of a conveyor belt because it penetrates into the rubber causing it to swell and distort, often resulting in serious operational problems.
Since not all oil and grease types are equally aggressive, the engineers have developed three different types of conveyor belts to meet all the requirements
Type 1 – oil and grease resistant
Type 2 – medium oil and grease resistant
Type 3– completely oil and grease resistant
Basic construction of conveyor belt
- two- or multi-ply EP carcass (warp polyester + weft polyamide)
- a special intermediate skimmed layer
- special oil and grease resistant types of rubber cover
